June Flood Debris

This is SOME of the tree debris removed from a few of the local streams. Piled up in the field where the Delaware County Fair parks cars. I left my Escort in each of the photographs to try to give it perspective.

Was this near you and your business?

In June, we had 4' of water inside our business. Most of the water came from the local streams when they plugged up with debris. The local environmental agencies prohibit cleaning the stream beds because it threatens the trout population. If the streambeds had been better managed, the flood damage would have been a lot less severe.

If you look back at the June Archives, there are photographs of the flood.

Wow, that sure is a lot of debris! It would make one monster bonfire.

What are they going to do with it all?

a few folks have tried to cut it up for firewood but it's too full of mud and stone. the chainsaws go dull in minutes.
they plan on chipping it all.
